PromptOS is a free, static website: no sign-up, no paywall, no server. Here is how it works, how to move around quickly, and who made the prompts.
How it works
From search to clipboard in three steps
Find a prompt
Search by keyword or browse a category. Sort by name or by how many fields a prompt has.
Fill in the fields
Open a prompt and each [FIELD] becomes a labelled input. A live preview shows exactly what you will copy.
Copy and go
One click copies the finished prompt. Want to reword it? Switch to Edit text. Reset restores the original.

Every prompt is credited to the person who created it, shown on its card. The number beside each name is how many prompts they have in the library.

Good to know
Are my favourites saved anywhere online?
No. Favourites are stored in this browser's local storage only. Clearing your browser data or switching devices resets them. Nothing is sent to a server.
Do my edits to a prompt get saved?
No. Fields you fill in and wording you change live only while the prompt is open. Copy the result before you close it; opening the prompt again shows the original text.
Which AI tools do these prompts work with?
Most were written for image models (like Midjourney, DALL·E or Gemini) and chat assistants (like ChatGPT). Each card shows who created the prompt, which is a good clue to where it was meant to be used.
Does it work offline?
Yes, after your first visit in a browser that supports it. The pages and every prompt are stored on your device, so the library keeps working without a connection. Updates arrive the next time you are online.
Does PromptOS collect any data?
No analytics, no cookies, no accounts. The only things stored are your favourites, recently opened prompts and theme choice, and they stay in your own browser.
Can I contribute a prompt or fix one?
Yes. The project lives on GitHub: open an issue or a pull request and it will be reviewed.
